VunjaBei (T) Group Ltd has continued its commitment to community development with a major outreach programme supporting primary and secondary schools in the Mikocheni area of Dar es Salaam. The initiative provided essential educational supplies, infrastructure improvements, and mentorship opportunities.
Over 1,500 students across five schools received new textbooks, stationery kits, and school uniforms. In addition, VunjaBei funded the renovation of two school libraries and the installation of computer labs at three schools.
"Education is the most powerful tool we can invest in," said the VunjaBei Group social responsibility team. "When we support our local schools, we are investing in the future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs of Tanzania."
The outreach programme also included a career mentorship day, where VunjaBei employees from various departments shared their professional experiences and advice with senior students. Topics covered included entrepreneurship, technology, healthcare careers, and financial literacy.
Parents and teachers expressed gratitude for the support, noting that many families in the area struggle to afford basic school supplies. The computer labs, in particular, were highlighted as game-changers for students who previously had no access to digital learning tools.
VunjaBei Group plans to expand the programme to reach more schools in other districts, with a goal of supporting at least 20 schools annually. The initiative is part of the group's broader CSR strategy, which allocates a portion of annual profits to community development projects.
